Monday Night in Austin - some crap to do
Yeah it’s Monday. Suck! But there’s some cool stuff going on, particularly if you like movies. The movie events around town are getting so numerous they’re actually getting hard to keep track of, let alone actually attend. I know we have been very film-focused here at the Outsider, but we are slowly expanding our crew and will be expanding our coverage greatly. Anyway, here’s a few things…
FLICKS > Heavenly Creatures and Welcome to the Dollhouse at Sidebar. What a double-feature! The theme of the evening must be Fucked up teenage girls. But these are two great flicks all the same. (602 E. 7th St.)
FLICKS > Castle in the Sky screens at Ventana Del Soul as part of their Anime and Boba Mondays. Check out the Miyazaki classic while sipping on some cool and refreshing Boba tea. The screening is free. (1834 East Oltorf, 7:30 PM)
FLICKS > Fusebox happy hour and film screening. Shorts by the Zellner Brothers and John Bryant. Free beer and wine. Happy hour starts at 6:00, movies start at 7:00. Tickets are $5.00. [link]
PERFORMANCE > David Sedaris at Bass Concert Hall. Awesome! (8:00) [link]
KARAOKE > At Beerland. Over 1000 songs hosted by Mr. E Psycho. (Free, 7115 Red River, 9:00 PM)
