Austin filmmaker finishes 3rd in Howard Stern film fest

Since we are poor bastards, we can’t afford satellite radio or subscription television, so we really knew nothing about the first ever Howard Stern Film Festival. But we would like to offer our congratulations to Austin filmmaker Matt Street for winning third place.
Street’s film is a comic documentary called Eating Fruit Salad. Film critic Richard Roeper compared the 4 1/2 minute film to Morgan Spurlock’s Supersize Me. Street won more than $4,500 in cash and prizes.
The Festival focused on lowbrow movies with “Howard Stern themed content.” The winning films will eventually get air-time on Stern’s new subscription television channel.
