SEX ADDICT comes to Austin

Independent filmmaker Caveh Zahedi will be in town for special screenings of his latest film I Am A Sex Addict. The film opens at the Dobie this Friday as part of a collaboration with the Austin Film Society. Zahedi will be in attendance at the 7:30 p.m. screenings on Friday and Saturday night. He will introduce the film and do a Q&A following the screening.

According to the Austin Film Society site, Austin plays a big part in the film:

Austin, Texas plays a pivotal role in the latter half of the film when Caveh meets Devin, a woman who helped to organize a screening of his first film, the conveniently titled A LITTLE STIFF, in conjunction with the Austin Film Society. It’s this brief encounter that provides a possible breakthrough, with Devin taking a laissez-faire attitude towards her partner’s sexual problems. But this “cure,” like the others, doesn’t last for long.

A futher Austin connection is that Zahedi was one of the characters in Richard Linklater’s first animated film: Waking Life.
